For the simple male who wants to update their look.

One of my favorite ways for men to update their looks or brighten it up a bit, is to go with bright colored sneakers. Old,New, Classics. Even if your not the attention grabbing type, just buying a new pair of sneakers could change it up. Beleive me, people will notice. Men's shoes could tell alot about a person-whether they don't care, care too much, stylish, simple, etc. Here are some examples of versatile or crazy pairs! I personally love dunks. They are beautiful and come in so many different styles.

Pair of SB Hi Top Dunks on Journeys.com @ $89.99

or You can go a more classic approach. You could always opt for black if green is too much. Chucks at Journeys.com for $39.99

Or If you're up for neons, try these form this guy selling them on Ebay now.Search under his screename which is located under the shoe. If not, search under Neon Dunks. Right now these are 44.95.

More pics to come later. Urbanoutfitters.com is down right now. Thanks!

Ideas for New Year's Festivities

This year popular ideas for New Years is all about GLAM! This includes for ladies- metallics, furs, gemstone colors, black and white combos, curly hair, large bows and for men- skinny ties, gemstone colors also, monochromatic schemes, natural hair, vests, old school sneakers, and knit caps. Some people I know are having trouble with figuring out what route to go for New Years. Hope I could help. Here are some of my favorites.....

First up, Men!

Check out Shia Lebeouf on the right with a skinny tie, vest and fitted rolled up button up. Nice!

Next up is Terrence Howard. He always looks put together and ever so adorable. He pulls off straw derbies very well and it seems to be his trademark. He finishes off the outfit with nice fitting trousers, white button up ,skinny brown belt, and a jacket to match. I'm guessing the shoes he would wear with this would be brown alligator oxfords. There is just always a vintage feel with his style. The Outkast rapper to the right takes a more simple approach with a striped button up and black pullover.

Men could always take a fun approach. Use Ferris Bueller for inspiration. A white fitted tee, leopard print vest and either dark jean or trouser, and top it off with red shoes!

Let's move on to the ladies.

Scarlett Johannson has always been one of my favorite style icons. Her style always incorporate classic pieces. Here she wears a freeflowing orange wrap dress with a orange skinny belt and black platform Mary Jane heels. She isn't super skinny and has her own mind. That's why I love her!

Amerie's style has evolved beautifully in the past year. She wears a black and white romper with patterened tights and black and white oxford heels. Kudos!

Nicole Richie is another one of my favorite style icons. She is a fashion chameleon. This is one of my favorite outfits I've ever seen her wear. Pictured wearing a yellow mini dress, vest with different kinds of animal furs mixed in and black satin pumps.

5th day of shopping...I should be tired.

5th day of shopping, 2nd time at the thrift store this week. This time I went to a different thrift store and one that is closer to my house. I found more chic things today....but it wasn't as amazing as Day 1 of the thrifting. Today I grabbed a miniature stat of a hand painted half owl half cat. Don't ask. It was priced for 2.50, I also got a medieval coined pewter colored necklace for 2.99, an electric blue knit pencil skirt, and a huge satin light blue hair bow. All totaling up to $11.

I'll be adding pictures of my great finds from this whole week, tommorow.

For the simple minded fashion clueless & curious male.

Today is dedicated to one of my friends who is having trouble with his style. His ideal style is simple with a little maintenance. He would like to do it on a budget, which I think is really common for males. So I found some sites where he could shop and still keep his bank account alive. I told him all he needs are the basics and he could oomph up any outfit. He likes dark colors, so he should look into black, dark purples, dark greens, browns, and dark subtle patterns would work. He just needs henley and boat-neck long sleeves, v necks, cheap but flattering jeans(gap), skinny black tie, white button up, a trouser, and any kind of shoes that matches his personality.

www.gap.com- You could buy a bunch of basics for little money. They are known for great fitting jeans.
www.americanapparel.com- You could also buy in bulk and get them in nice saturated colors.
www.forever21.com- Yes, F21 has men's clothes now and they are beaut!

Always check online sales at your favorite stores because usually there are better deals than in the store. Check Thrift Stores also for vintage grabs if you do not mind hand me downs. Vests,Bootcut jeans,Vertical Stripes, shirts that actually fit are flattering on everybody.

Maybe these could be his ideal?

Love me long time

I found a dress today at work. It's a Black Pencil Knit Dress with buttons down the middle and some sort of draping/rouching at the waist. It also have a split in the back and its true vintage. It was originally $10 but with the discount, about $7.

Speaking of more Christmas deals, I found a brown stretchy scarf with hints of gold, burgundy and some other neutral colors mixed in there that I absolutely loved.I showed my friend who works at American Apparel the scarf, and he too fell in love with it. He wanted me to buy it for him with my "discount". I told him no because I loved it. He begs," As a Christmas gift?" I say, " Are you still getting me a Christmas gift." He says unbelievably," Yes! you can pick out anything you want, and I'll buy it on the spot for you." I quickly say ok the scarf is yours. Anybody that knows me, knows that I absolutely ADORE American Apparel and that tons of my $$$ goes there. After he said that, my mind wandered off continuosly and graciously thinking what I could possibly get that I want and need . I thought about what has fit me amazingly and pieces I've been eyeing for a while.

It's been a great shopping week!

Thrift Store Shopping Adventures

I FINALLY I made it to a thrift store 40 minutes away from my home that I have not been to in about 3 years. This whole week I've been having good shopping days- finding great bargains under $5 at Urban Outfitters, shopping with and getting to know my new coworkers, and today marks the greatest day in my thrift shopping history of great vintage finds.

I found an amazing green, red, and yellow plaid flannel shirt that I tried on top of my outfit for about $2. In which it made my outfit look ten times better. I was wearing a cobalt blue unitard with slouchy deconstructed pirate cream colored boots and a new kids on the block t-shirt. I've been looking for a great plaid men's flannel shirt forever and when I found it earlier this month, I washed it and never saw it again. On a brighter note, today I found a pale blue with a hint of silver lacy slip that is very reminiscent to slips worn in the 40s. I got that for about $3. I also found a skirt that looks very much like something in the current Marc Jacobs fall line. I will wear as a dress. It has a subtle floral print of midnight blue, forest green, and pink. It cost about $2. Totaling up to about $8 plus tax. Great deal I would say, eh?
