Ebay...long time no shop.

Lately Ebay, these days, is ridiculous. I find great stuff and I literally get outbidded by 10 cents in the last 5 seconds. Now that's just not fair, now is it?! I gave up on Ebay after my last 3 encounters for the past month in a half. I realized Ebay was getting too trendy and everybody was catching on. The sellers started upping their prices and amateur bidders bid early so the price is higher in the end. It sucks.
Last night, I subconsciously went on Ebay(after about 6 week getaway). I found soo many great boots for my sized 11 cro-magnon foot...and also two great vintage dresses! What is so great also is that they are priced super low and nobody has yet to bid on them. Let me not get ahead of myself. I'm usually successful at getting shoes on Ebay: 1. because nobody wears a size 11 and 2. I know certain keywords to type in to find my favorites. I do some hard searching to find perfect items I most likely won't be able to find in New Orleans. One boot ended last night with no bids, but now it is relisted. I'm gaining some sort of hope back. They are pretty plain but i can see them turning some of my outfits out, being the final piece to making my outfit look amazing. Here are some things I watching right now on Ebay.

I love the texture of these boots. the owner says they are quite flaky on the inside. I duno if i could deal with that. i already bought a pair of boots from ebay that is flaky and kind of sticky inside. TRUE VINTAGE!

I love these boots...simple, navy, able to fold down.

These are the boots in which I could see turning any of my outfits out. I love creme colored boots!

Oh yes! Finally a pair of cute combat boots mixed with a great gatsby fringe. the best of all? In my size and high top!
These red ones are my number ones for now. I must have them! i need them in my life.

So I have a love/hate relationship with this dress. I love the florals and ruffled sleeves and material looks nice. But i dont know if it will be flattering on me or possibly to matronly for my taste? I feel like i can make it modern somehow. but how?

I love the neckline of this dress..the dress is a mix of nautical and 80s.

My Top 10 necessities for the fall

Hey..long time no write. I've been real busy- working crazy hours, trying to get back into doing charcoal drawings and sewing new threads, handling school stuff, and drinking mimosas. I must say I am super excited for the fall. Maybe a little more than usual. New Orleans never really get a fall season. It goes from 99 degrees one day and the next day it drops 30 degrees. This past week its been feeling real fall like and less humid. I think we may actually have a fall this time around!

I wanted to do a list of my Top 10 necessities for the fall. These are the things I have, I must get, or will continue buying more of throughout the season. Lately, I've been really into the 70s, ever since I put down my flat iron in April and have been wearing a curly afro since. I've always loved the 70s but I never really acted out on it. I've always admired everyone outfits in Dazed and Confused and secretly wished I could be apart of that movie. I always preferred 80s inspired clothes and colors compared to the 70s since I was about 13. The 70s are rapidly taking over my wardrobe this season!

I've also become deeply interested in 1940s Glam Hollywood. I want plum lipstick, finger waved hair, slinky low cut dresses, and dark nail polish.

Here are my top 10-old favorites and new favorites, in no particular order.

1. Hair Accessories(oversized and subtle). This includes huge bows, barrettes, flapper inspired headbands and clips, bandannas or colorful scarfs tied like a classic housemaid.
2. Fringe( I personally will sew myself a fringed long brown buttonless vest soon)
3. Ruffles( the more layers the better) Let's over-exaggerate it!
4.Zippers( I love zippers in unexpected places for example exposed zippers, zipper pockets, belts and shoes with zippers)
5.High Waist Super Wide Leg Jeans(dark or light wash- I need two pairs and I have yet to find my perfect pair)
6.Oversized scarves or multiple scarves
7.Open toe boots/platform ankle boots/ Gem- colored platform heels
8.Opaque and sheer tights in deeply saturated colors( black, grey, dark greens and purples)
9.PLAID, PLAID AND more PLAID!- Yes -Buffalo,gingham, unstructured, multicolored, monochromatic.
10.One-sies(floral, solid, long, ruffled, pastel colors, plaid)
11. Mini Dresse( ok sorry one more.) I can never live without these. I love them especially 90s styled! I'll throw some tights, boots and a jacket in for the fall.

Karl Lagerfield

Hey!

I evacuated last friday to Plano, TX for Hurricane Gustav. I must say it's not too bad and it's way better than Sugarland,TX(where I was during Katrina). It's also 15 minutes away from Dallas. I went to the Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Ann Taylor Loft,Dillards and AA out here. I found some good stuff. I definitely bought all the shit we dont carry in the NO-1 store. I'll take pictures of my purchases when I get back to NOLA. I don't have my USB cable here with me.

My mom took me on a shopping spree Saturday for my 20th birthday. It was quite exciting and relaxing. I had a really good birthday, considering I had to be in Texas during it. She bought me a new phone and made me cupcakes before the gruesome 9 hour drive. When we got to Plano, I took a 6 hour nap and woke up just in time to make it to lunch. When I woke up, my mom told me we should go to Zea's and go shopping. I'll treat you. That's what I love to hear! I had to take her on that offer.I also received a birthday blackberry cobbler with ice cream on top from Zea's! It was soo delicious! After that, we went shopping for the rest of the day. I was able to get whatever I wanted to. BEAUTIFUL! We also continued shopping for the next 3 days days. I am truly tired and think I should stop while I'm still ahead. You know your shopping has gotten ridiculous when you go to F21 two days in a row.

So today, I decided to take a lunch break from all the ridiculous impulse shopping that was taking place today at American Apparel and Urban Outfitters. I went to this place called, "Cafe Express." It's basically a restaurant with healthy american food including grilled chicken sandwiches, unique blended ice teas and great music. Kudos to them for having free wireless( I've been looking everywhere in Texas!)... While waiting to order my food, I took a break from texting to check out my surroundings. Who is eyeing me from a table 3 feet away? A Karl Lagerfield lookalike! Yes an older tan man with chic black huge sunglasses and white hair. I did a double look! Boyfriend potential? Yes! A fashionable man would do! I should have taken a picture. Dallas is actually quite fashionable. Did I mention I made friends with all the boys in Forever 21, Urban Outfitters and AA?

Impulve buys in the last two days.

Why is it that working for AA puts me more in a compulsive mood than shopping does on a regular day? There is something about working there, being around clothes all day, and seeing other employees buy shit that makes me buy things I've been eyeing. This is not good! I need to control my spending habits a little bit better, especially if I plan on happy shopping on my trip to L.A. and Chicago. I also tryed on the football cropped tee that i wanted in my last blog and let's just say I don't need it. Its not flattering or cute on. I did order the ruffled sheer jersey white shirt and got the black oversized cardigan today. The mocassin purchase is coming up. Hopefully i can get them before it gets cold. I'm also getting the zebra print swimsuit for my upcoming birthday next week. I cannot wait to wear it!

Here's some stuff at work I bought today and yesterday.

Some things I want to buy this week!

First time ever! 2 blogs in one day! I'm on the roll. I guess I have a lot to talk about...My winter work wardrobe,I'm thinking I would be into more cardigans, bodysuits, colored frames, backseam tights, fringe boots, and more red. I'm definitely getting another pair of backseam tights in navy from AA. I'll be going to L.A.( for the 1st time!) and Chicago next month! I'm pretty excited to do some shopping and see the boys in L.A. I also haven't seen my sister since May, so thats the only reason i'll be in the Chi. More importantly i paid for my plane ticket myself. It makes me proud that I didn't spend it on materialistic things, but instead on an experience. Here are some things I'm craving right now!

I would get this is black, wear it with full skirts, and high waist jeans.

Some things I bought in this week!

Payday puts me in an amazing mood, especially since buying tickets for L.A. and Chicago on my own. It feels good. It also feels good when you're in love with some Levi shorts that you magically receive an additional 50% off the sale price. Here are some things i bought this week. I couldnt find the underwear and exact shorts i bought online..but these are pretty close! I broke my heart bamboo earrings yesterday and i needed another pair. I went to the local hair store and got the heart and regular bamboo. I was so tempted to get the doorknockers!

I bought a pair similar to these with satin piping along the bottom and seams. they are so much tighter and has a higher waist.

Yea I had to get another pair.

I wore the yellow/baby blue one 3 days in a row. I love it! and i had to get another.I chose the grass/orchid color scheme instead of the red/pink. I'm starting to rethink it.
