RIP Amy

Today is such a SAD day! I hate to hear about this before I have to go into work. I have always been in love with Amy ever since her blown up success in the states. Her music was raw and real...Her music was very close to my heart and has gotten me through some sucky situations. I'm not surprised but I was rooting for her to fight through her struggled and addictions. She was currently working on her new album and I was highly anticipating it. I cannot express how heartbroken I am and I'm still in disbelief about it, really. I dressed up like her for Halloween '08 and I won best costume and impersonation. RIP Amy, you are so cute and sassy, and I love you dearly. Enjoy this video, " In My Bed"..one of my favorite songs and videos by Amy.

White Short, Red short

Finally I am able to post! I was having some photo uploading difficulties but I figured it out. I bought these BDG High Waisted white shorts from Urban Outfitters and was extremely ecstatic to finally have a pair of white shorts, especially high waisted pair. I love anything high waisted really. I kept trying to wear them with my outfits and it just never worked out. I realized after three weeks of buying them, that I actually hated how white shorts/ jeans looked on my bottom half. I always felt self conscious whenever I would put the shorts on. I wanted to return them but I realized I threw away my receipt for them(great right?)so I had to keep them in my closet. After that, I decided that it's time to get creative and find a way to wear them shorts, find a way for me to love them again. It was time to DYE them! It was super easy and I'm so much happier with the shorts now that added some color to them. I'll give you a step by step guide on how to dye anything of yours that white, cream or a light color. It usually works on denim or cotton.
BEFORE DYEING
Took this picture to show you guys the before photo of my shorts that I love/hated.

Step 1: Go to a supermarket(Target, Walmart, Kroger), go to the crafts aisle and look for a fabric dye. There were so many colors that I was unable to contain my excitement! There was turquoise, lavender, red, light blue, fucshia, and even bright yellow!(Seriously it cost $2.00 for one pack)

Step 2. Fill a stainless steel sink or bowl up with extremely hot water.(The hotter the water, the deeper the color, and the less it fades when you wash it). Pour the whole power packet of dye into the hot water and mix until dissolved. (You might want to wear gloves, because my hands were stained after. The label should have these type of warnings.)

Step 3. Put your shorts or jeans into the water and stir constantly for 20 minutes straight. (Yes I know this may hurt your arm for a while but I promise it will be worth it! )

Step 4. After 20 minutes has passed, you can occasionally stir it for another 20 minutes.

Step 5. Next you would want to rinse the shorts off with cold water. I did it until the water was mostly clear. Gently ring out the shorts to get rid of excess water.

Step 6. Let it air dry. This took about two days to fully dry. That's it! Simple! Here is the end result!

Red Shorts AFTER DYING!
It dried just in time for July 4th and I got so many compliments on them! These are now one of my favorite pair of high waisted shorts. I think I'll buy another pair and dye those lavender!

Oh, Lita and Ostrich Bag...I want you.

Hey guys!

I REALLY hope I win this black ostrich satchel handbag off EBay tomorrow. I LOVE Ostrich Bags. It's one of my secret obsessions, really. This handbag is vintage and from Italy. It wont allow me to save or right click on the photo to show you guys what it looks like. From the picture, it looks a little dusty but I'm sure I can put a little leather cleaner on it to make it a little shiny and like new! It's in great shape and at a great price!

I have also been really obsessed with these Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoes in mint for a long time now. Seafoam green is my absolute favorite color and anytime I find clothing or accessories with that color, I have to buy it. It's such a rare color and you never get to see it on anything. I dont own a pair of Jeffreys but I hear they are comfortable and made of great quality! These shoes are about 5 inches tall and would put me at 6'3 with these on. My dream! I can wear these with high waisted jeans, with skirts, with shorts, with thigh high thin socks, with anything! They are so versatile. Olivia Vidato says I should just get them, don't overthink it and dont look back. I will trust her opinion and will just do it. I have nothing like this in my wardrobe and I cannot wait until these are in my closet!

Girl takes a bohemian approach to the brown suede Litas. Very Cute!

More of a architectural feel. Pop of color in the handbag..very modern but I like.

Photos of some girls on the street wearing the Lovely "Lita" shoe from Jeffrey! Nobody really has the mint color, think its time for me to be the first...or at least the first online to wear them and take photos...
I've been dreaming about these shoes for months....

Josephine Baker in " Princess Tam Tam"

Wow! Josephine can really dance! She is so hypnotizing and I can't take my eyes away. I would've loved to have seen her perform live. So full of life and this movie scene is great. I love the cinematography of the guy on the bongos and her dancing and shaking. Its perfect! I heard she would never perform in venues that were segregated. She is amazing!  I need to try to find this movie on Netflix.

Fake An Attitude

I would like to go on a feather shouldered, low cut/sequin leotard dancing tour with this girl.Seriously....

UPDATE! I found her on twitter and we talked for a little bit through some tweet exchanges! She is super sweet and adorable! Her tweets were part English and part French. Thanks to my middle school teachers and some family members for teaching me some French basics...that I was able to understand it(which reminds me I need to get started on my French lessons via podcasts very soon). Her dream is to go on tour in the U.S. I told her to make it happen because she is amazing and I'm sure she would turn the U.S. out! It really made my day!

Flying Overseas

With a recommendation from one of my NOLA friends, I checked out this video and artist about 2 months ago. Since then my life has been forever changed! This is one of my favorite songs by Theophilus. Theophilus London is what Kid Cudi wishes he could be. Not only is the cinematography of this video is beautiful but have you seen the styling for this video? Theophilus wears a bright colored Navajo printed button down and buttoned high on his neck, nude colored top hat and trousers cuffed at the ankles!  Who is this kid? I am obsessed and his music is amazing! I have both his albums, which I surprisingly bought on Itunes and did not download illegally. The girl is his video is a model on asos.com and I need her floral printed ruffled crop top in my life! This video is great! It truly shows the love between two people who have been away from each other in a while. I think the lyrics and video is very romantic and sweet, especially coming from a Brooklyn rapper. I wish my life was like this video... running around on the beach in cute outfits, drinking champagne and having a picnic. I can only hope right?
